The MSRC has 4 guaranteed places left for the 2006 British 10k Race, which is going to be held on Sunday July 2nd.

The British 10k is a fantastic event which takes runners past the world famous landmarks of London, including the Wellington Arch, Trafalgar Square, St.Pauls Cathedral, Westminster Abbey before finishing on Whitehall near Downing Street.

There will be entertainment along the route to provide a real party atmosphere with live bands set against a backdrop of Union Flags!

Double Olympic 10k Champion, Haile Gebrselassie, won last year’s event and if you want to join TeamMSRC for this Great British Event, contact abi@msrc.co.uk. There are only four places left, so don’t delay if you want to be part of the Team!

Minimum age is 15 years and you must be able to complete the event in under 2 hours.

cheers

I tried to apply but they were pretty adamant about not paying for my flight and accommodations. I guess it's best as the most running I do is to my car when it's raining. Actually I do run 2 miles 4-5 times a week.

Quite a story there, squiffy. You did a great job and service. Very good indeed.
I did something in the 80's not long after I got custody of my children and moved here. My young son (deceased 6-95) just coming off cancer brain surgery, a Cancer event came up where people donated an amount of money per mile that you could go. This event was run, walk, skate, ride, whatever, just make money.
I borrowed an old bicycle, hooked up a little red wagon, and off we went.
Luckily land is good and flat around here. With me peddling and son (6) in the wagon, we managed to pull off 20 miles. Had a great time and fun.
My son was cancer free for 11 years when it came back and two years later he floated to a better place where pain, tears, frustration, etc, do not exist.
I donate to St. Judes for cancer research.
We all do what we can for whatever reasons.

In the natural scheme of things, parents are not to outlive their children.
I've lost 2 children. God's will?
My other two children have 2 children each, all fine and well.
God's Miracle?
That's why I live the great state of confusion. God has win-win situations.
Have a good one.
