How is there not an E3 topic in Open Discussion yet? Has everybody watched all the insider videos yet? http://www.e3insider.com/ It's sooo tough to pick a favourite console... Xbox 360 has Halo 3, Wii has the crazy controller.. ahhh!!

My first video game was 'PONG'. I have played Pacman a couple times. I also tried landing a jet on an aircraft carrier with an Atari. Other than that, I just sit back and be amazed by my grandkids playing Tony Hawk skateboarding or some driving games on a PS2. One of my twin grandsons learned to play PS1 with the controller upside down. He was awesome. They were only 4-5 years old. He has the controllers right side up now.:D So much for my gaming knowledge.

I was thinking that too Mike. I've been keeping a close eye on E3 through the gamespot website. I have an Xbox 360 so i've been keeping an eye on that. In my opinion I dont think the nintendo Wii will do very well. Has anyone seen the graphics on the upcoming tony hawk project 8 game yet? wow.

I've got 4 words for you: "Wii", "Supreme Commander", and "C&C3".

Not to mention some purrty looking warez in the form of Company of Heroes, Battlefield 2142, Flatout 2 and Alliance: Future Combat.
What more could you possibly want?

Thats more than four words! C&C3 is 4 words alone.....sort of. :rotflmao:

I have to say though C&C3 looks absolutely amazing and so does Battlefield 2142.

How do you pronounce Wii anyway? Is it Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee :dizzy: :rotflmao: or why or W 2

It's pronounced Weeeeeeeee. What I found interesting was the latest Slashdot poll (http://slashdot.org/pollBooth.pl?qid=1341&aid=-1). Apparently Wii isn't doing so bad after all.

I'm not that knowladgeable on slashdot but isn't that the website who's polls indicate a market dominence for apple?

Dunno about the polls, but as for the group mentality, they're Linux freaks. With all the press over Xbox360 (HD-DVD) vs. PS3 (BD-ROM), it would be pretty awesome if the Wii turned out to be the console with the most success. Nintendo needs a victory - the GCN was a hell of a console, better than the Xbox or PS2, but once they lost most of their 3rd-party developer support, the console and games got undeservedly shoved to the back of almost every store shelf (if not, dropped from sale completely).

Check out Crysis. That is the best game there for PC by far. I can't wait for it to come out.

Yeah Crysis is looking pretty snazzy. I've got a copy of Far Cry lying around, but never got round to installing it - maybe I will now, as a teaser. Another couple of games I'm looking forward to, TimeShift and Quake Wars - and of course a few of the classic franchises that will be making appearances on Wii and GCN - Smash Bros, Sonic, Monkey Ball,...

One thing I'm not liking is all the episodic content (Sin Episodes, HL2 Aftermath episodes, etc). I mean, it's taking advantage of a new medium, and I'm sure they'll pull it off well; there's just something about that purchasing plan I don't like...maybe it's the reliance on a stable broadband internet connection? Installing HL2 was annoying, and I really hate it when Steam refuses to let you play unless you've downloaded this, unencrypted that, updated one component or another, prepared it for offline mode, repeat ad nauseum. Surely they realize that not every country has a broadband uptake rate like Korea?

I heard some hype bout spore awhile back. Some hail it as genre defining. *shrug*

Yeah you should install Far Cry oracle. It's a great game. Maybe I could show you around and stuff.

My friend enjoyed Far Cry but it didn't hold his interest for very long.

Nintendo have done it before and I'm sure they can do it again. Silly name though, it'll no doubt be called the P1ss box or something equally derrogatory :p
