How many "radio" watts would it take to cover 9,970,610 kilometres squared or 3,849,652 miles squared. I don't know if theres anyway to figure this out.

In theory, even one watt would cover that much.

It depends on how strong you want the signal to be at the destination.

Edit: Would also depend on the type and quantity of interference.

besides distance it also has to be strong enough to overide interference I'm guessing.

No prob.

If one watt was transmitted in a vacuum, the signal wouldn't degrade and would travel billions of miles. Even a cheap receiver would pick up the signal.
