Is there anything close to that corner of the monitor? A speaker perhaps? Anything magnetic? Magnets and some speakers can do strange things to monitor displays if placed too close to the screen.

I didn't know the problem has been there all along.
If it's an LCD monitor (flat panel), it may just be bad pixels. It happens and it's not uncommon. If that's the case, there is no fix, just learning to live with it.

Depending on the brand of the Monitor, if it is still under warranty, you may be able to get a replacement for dead pixels, again this depends on how many pixels, as this varies by manufactures.
Interesting reading:

You may want to try and reload your video driver and/or monitor driver to ensure this is not the problem.
For example if the monitor is a Dell HERE (http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_CEL_2400&os=WW1&osl=EN#)are the drivers:

Ah littleman, that was your problem
I read that yesterday, and wanted the other members have a crack at this.
I think your monitor has a fault in the tube or the power supply.

If it's a problem with the monitor, there is no fix. You can take the monitor to a computer shop and have them take a look at it, maybe test it.
A pixel is the tiny unit of color used by monitors to create the picture. Think of them as the tiny building blocks that, all put together, form a picture. They are an integral part of the display and if some go bad, they cannot be replaced or fixed.
