Hey, does anybody know how to allow multiple users to access a *.mdb at the same time? i keep getting the message " xxx is opened exclusively by another user..."

Yes, the user created the database and placed it on a network drive

Okay.. I may stand to be corrected here but basing this on my out work network experience but, unless the program itself is a network version allowing for more than one user to access it at a time, then the message you are getting is to be expected and only one user can access it at a time..
