Its pretty much plug and play usually, almost. What router do you have?
Once you install the wireless cards they should be set on DHCP as default. Also I tend to use the windows wireless config instead of the ones that come with the wireless adapters, that way you get alot less problems. As long as your router is set to DHCP as default all you need to do is "view wireless networks" and then connect. Once connected you can set WPA encription to stop people getting on your network. If you actually want to network the pc's (ie not just use the same internet connetion) you will still need to run the network settup wizard on both pcs.

Also, just run the Setup a Wireless Network wizard in the first place to detect and connect to the router
Note: If you haven't don't any router config then you may have to first connect to it using a cable rather than wireless to setup the wireless options.

Linksys are really easy to use. As degs said firstly plug 1 laptop into it with the ethernet cable. get into the config page (192.168.1.1), user and password should be admin and admin. configure your WEP encription. Then as long as you have service pack 2 on both laptops and a USB memory stick you can run wirless setup to "copy" all the config and WEP code over to both laptops. Otherwise you will have to put in the WEP code manually on each laptop (you only have to do this once).
