Page FAult
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.
I have a 1gb amstrad mp3 player and when I hook it up to usb it shows up as a removable disk drive and works fine. But if I disconnect it (stopped first), then reconnect it I get an error, "page fault in nopaged area". I've been doing searches for that for the last couple of days and it seems to have a lot of different causes with no real remedies. Any help is much appreciated. chris |

Hi there. How long are you leaving between the disconnect and reconnect?
Is there any device specific software running - did the player come with a software/driver disk or is it just using standard in-built Windows drivers? Monitor task manager - processes to see if you can see the application/process that is being used as you plug in, stop, unplug and reconnect. Hint: From Task manager go View>Select Columns and you can add the PageFaults column to the display

The first time I did it It was about 30 minutes between connects.
It came with some partitioning software that I havent used but I did install it. the cd had windows 98 driver, but I'm running win 2k. When Its running I go to the driver area and it says that the current driver suitable. would it hurt to install the 98 driver? When I get the page fault its on the blue screen. if I'm looking in task manager I wont see anything in the pagefault field right. |
