So my Unlce called me to see if I could fix his wireless router. He has three computers in his house. His main one hooked up to the wireless router is working flawlessly, however the two other computers do not. When I asked him to view the packet transfers, it said that through the wireless router only 2 have been sent and 0 recieved. Somehow the two computers are not actually connecting to the wireless router even though they have network cards and he has uninstalled and reinstalled them. He told me that he tampered with it awhile back, but if he uninstalled it and reinstaleld it, i don't know what the problem could be.

Are the PCs getting IP Addresses?
Can they connect to the router config?

My uncle says that they are not seeing the IP address, so i told him to go to properties under TCP/IP ( which wouldn't work becasue this is only for a CAT5 direct connection) and make sure that he checks off the "obtain ip address auotmatically" and it's already checked. At the bottom of the screen on one of the computers that doesn't work, it says that the connection is good it vareis from yellow - gree nbut no packets are being sent or recieved

Have you tried testing by assigning Static IPs?

Does the router use WEP/WPA/EAP/LEAP/PEAP/many more acronyms that get annoying? If so, are the 2 that aren't working properly configured with the key. If they sense the network but don't get an IP address, the most common error is that they are not authenticating.
