Can some kindly show me how to install a network adpater driver? I am working on a peer to peer network and my computer is not showing the Local Area Network Icon.

Is it not showing the icon in "network connections" or just on the bottom right? If its not showing in network connections go to start and right click on my computer. Go to properties. Click on the hardware tab and click on device manager. You should then see the network adapter with either a question mark or exclamation mark next to it. You can then click on it and install the driver using the cd that came with it. If its inbuilt with the motherboard the driver will be on the motherboard cd.

If you dont have the cd find out the exact pc or motherboard make and model, then go to their website to download the NIC drivers. If its a PCI network card again find out the make and model and then do a search for the drivers.
You can either look at the motherboard or NIC card for the make and model or use a program such as everest home edition. |
