Hello,
I'm trying to run regedit.exe. When I go to run and type regedit, I get this message:
Cannot find the file 'regedit' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.
I appreciate anyone who can help me.

try this press F8 before your computer starts go to Command prompt only and when at the c:\ type without the quotes "scandisk" fix up anything that need fixin' the last check is to check the drive physically, and it will take a REALLY REALLY long time so unless u want to do it hit select NO and at the c:\ prompt again without quotes type "scanreg /fix" hit enter, once that's done and ur at the C:\ prompt again type once again without the quotes "win" hit enter and this should take you back to the GUI of windows. :) post back ur success or unsuccess...please and thank you.

thanks for the quick reply. unfortunately at the command prompt typing either "scandisk" or "scanreg/ fix" would only yield the error message "bad command or file name." typing "win" did get me back to windows though, so i don't know what's going on. i'm pretty positive that i typed it correctly. is there anything else i can do??

Can you run any other .exe commands? There are viruses that attack the exe command. Try start/run/msconfig and see it that screen pops up. If not, then you have a virus. If it does, then look for the regedit.exe file by start/find/files/regedit.exe and go to that location and try and run it.
