I don't know if this belongs here or in software applications, since I'm using FrontPage, but here goes. I wanna put a video on my webpage and I can't get it to play. Using MS media player. Would someone be willing to take a look at my code and see what I've done wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You have to upload the 2002card.wmv to the website and show the
correct path to where it is on the website. Your showing the
path to the clip on your hard drive and that's not going to work
for anyone but you. You have to change these two lines...

<PARAM NAME="FileName" VALUE=" file:///C:/My Documents/My Webs/angelfireweb/2002card.wmv">

SRC=" file:///C:/My Documents/My Webs/angelfireweb/2002card.wmv"

Most free hosts won't let you show the video anyway. Video
burns too much bandwidth. You can try and see anyway.

Wahooooooo! Spider. Thanks! it worked! Angelfire must be one of the few free sights that allow streaming video. Take a look at it now!

Works fine.

Just because the load is so long (slow server at angelfire for free sites)
it's probably a convenient thing to show the statusbar of the media player
so people looking at the video know it's loading. Lot's of times with surfers
if things don't happen right away then they close and move on. So if you
add the statusbar they can see something is on the way.

Where you have...<PARAM NAME="showcontrols" VALUE="1">
add just under it...<param name="ShowStatusBar" value="1">

Just a thought, mixednuts....

Nice video, but the same thing could be produced with Flash or Swish (.SWF) and give clearer pictures and probably smaller file size. At nearly 1 MB...you could run out of free bandwidth real fast.

Good job, though.... :)

Thanks Spider and Max
I'll do the statusbar thing.....great suggestion.
I know nothing about Flash or Swish. Is there free software available to create these lil video goodies? Maybe you could point me in the right direction.
This forum ROCKS! I love it. Thanks for the timely replies and keep up the good work.
