I have installed new HD in a Gateway preformance 600 computer. and Re-installed Win 98 and updated windows 98 and Internet explorer.
In the process some of my system board drivers became unstable and had yellow question marks.
I tried to re install the driver from the system restoration CD Ver 11.1 and that animal is not user friendly. and when I try to follow the procedures it says I need to have win 98 SE installed not just win 98.

I found someones old windows 98 SE (for PC without Windows) , not the install key yet. I have to old OEM key from the original CD . Is there a way to find out if the Win98 SE disk can accept the old OEM key?

or is there another workaround for the restoration Cd reloading the drivers for the mother board.

Go to the Gateway site and see if you can download the appropriate drivers there. If you can't find them, and if you are the original owner (and maybe if you're not!) e-mail technical support for assistance.

I just reformated Hard Drive, Re Installed Win 98 which fixed all but two hardware drivers and I have disk for the missing two.

Thanks for every one's time.
