Hi there just wanted to know if it were possible to run a BTC DVD dual double layer DVD writer on my HP pavilion 8606 PC?..and if it is possible can I download the software needed to run it.drivers etc as i have no install disk with it..can anyone help me out..would be much appreciated..cheers

To offer at least a response to your question, I'm not familiar with either the specific brand BTC writer or what exactly an HP 8606 PC is, but typically a dvd writer can be put in most any newer PC. Also, there usually is no software driver required, only some type of program to do your burning.

I'm currently running an NEC model 3550 DVD burner on one of my computers. Its a Pentium III, 733 with 512megs memory, with windows 98 version 1. I use DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink as well as Nero 6 without problems.

I'm sorry I just noticed you said external. So you will need USB2 most likely.
