I has just crossed my mind... My new machine hasn't got a "reset" button on the tower (old one has and very useful it is too) The new system (OS: Win. XP) hasn't "freezed" on me yet, touch wood but... what if/when it does? CTRL+ALT+DEL doen't always work on my old machine so I wonder... will it work on the new one, or will I be reduced to take drastic measures, like brutally switching it off??? Suggestions, please!... Thanks Dolores

My machine has no resest switch either, however I have had some freezes on XP, all my own fault. In the control panel double click on power options, then the advanced tab in there will be a power button option, which I have mine set to shut down the PC after I hold it for 5 or so seconds.

Some of the Reset switches are hidden behind the front panel and are accessible only through a small hole. If you have one of these, it's usually located somewhere near the Power Switch and Power LED.

Thanks, guys! Both replies most appreciated 1) Found tab/button options mentioned, no prob. Will keep fingers crossed and head together at first "freeze" (I know it will happen sooner or later...) 2) Can't see wee hole at all. On/off button tactics will have to do Have a lovely Yule!
