clicking link goes to bottom of page in ie

does anyone know why, when i click a link, instead of going to the site, instead goes to the bottom of page?

for example, if i am doing a search on yahoo for something and get a list of sites. then i click on one of those site links and the click does not go thru and does not get transferred to the page. instead what happens is i'm on the same search page of yahoo, but am paged down automatically to the end of the page.

it even did it on this site. i clicked a linked and it did not take me into the link. it's like i have to click a link twice.

also there is a lot of blank space at the top of page after i have typed in a search word and search engine comes up with links for sites.
