You need to and have to because it's the ethical thing to do. If you fail to purchase software legally you are stealing. It's just the same as if you were to walk into your local discount superstore, fill your arms with items, then walk out. Now you're asking how to get rid of the security guard trying to stop you.

Pay for the software you use.

Hi, its $89 in some places for the OEM version, which you won't get free support with it from microsoft, but the $300 you will get free support with it from microsoft, thats what they told me. You have to awnser your question on your own, some people will say yes its cheap, some will say no... matter of opinions..

If you purchased the PC with the OS pre-installed and still have your Cert of Authenticity, I'd suggest 1 of 2 courses of action:
1) contact the store you bought the PC from and ask why their genuine software is being flagged as pirated? How many others did they use your licence key on?
2) contact Microsoft.
