Hi Guys

Trying to build a computer from scratch I got a list and spec from one company and got a better deal from another. Problem is I have now been sent what I think is DDR MEMORY but am unsure. my mother board has dimm slots with two dividers so ram should have two cutouts in the connecting edge.My mother board is a Gigabyte GA 7ZXE and I think I should have PC133 memory can you help please. Also I have been sent two dvd drives and one cd re-writer I cannot understand why two dvd drives have been sent. Is there any advantage to this? The spec from the first company reads: CD- ROM/DVD:16XDVD ROM DRIVE
CD-ROM/DVD:40X12X40 CD-RW DRIVE
Can you explain this as the second company has sent the following.
DVD NEC 16X OEM QUANTITY 1
ARTEC 16X DVD ROM QUANTITY 1
CDRW SAMSUNG 40X 12X 40 OEM QUANTITY 1

Any help would be good

Thanks

Michael

Yes you need SDram only for that Motherboard. Can you give me the numbers off the Ram stick you got and I'll see what I can find on it....

Not sure why they sent you 2 dvd rom drives, but if your interested in getting rid of one, I'll probably take it off your hands... And no there isn't any advantage to having two DVD drives, except to have one for backup incase one dies on you....

Here is a standard Picture of DDR Ram (http://www.lurkhere.com/~dodge/ddr.jpg)

Here is a picture of PC100 Sdram (http://www.lurkhere.com/~dodge/pc100.bmp)

Which picture does yours match?

Thanks Dodge

Pictures reassuring sorted this out today but stuck for a boot disk now as the one I have seems to stop so far through the process I select start with cd rom support and get a half dozen lines ending with 'device name mscdoo1. Maybe I'll get there by Christmas.
