Having tons of illegal operations and freezing-possible cause and new comp.

ur cpu, i just took in another computer and i had illegal operations and freezing up the behind, i took the cpu from my broken Dell optiplex (i have a raid card so probably could use it that way-broken pins on the motherboard) gx300 and put it into this one, and my freezing are all rare (i had some situated with a high cpu temp in this case and got that situated as I took the coolmaster fan and have it loosely stuck to the HUGE heat sink on this one, and am using waterfall 1.23 free to cool down the cpu and now is all working fine, yes I still gotta get the floppy disk working right and put back on the case, also this one has 4 memory slots and I had plents sitting around the house from other taken apart computers so now I have 512mb Memory.. all 128mb each.

When i first got this computer it had 2000 on it and also over 700+ spyware and two trojans and one trojan dropper... I know it ran sooooo slow in the beginning. However i did sign on with the aim included and say his/her buddy list, the name and userpassword was saved. However before ruining the 2000 operating system I did take down the aim name but first copied to the clipboard and then used the included aim program to sign onto my aim and added that persons aim, I think this kid had a disease however i heard he was 14 and he was visiting and chatting with some sites and persons on aim...

anyway after ruining the OS, I took out the maxtor 20gb hardrive and added mine, i had to reinstall 98 tho because of this stupid modem I have, after getting everything all set up the modem would not dial right, it would dial but weird and wouldn't connect to juno internet.. this modem does this all the time, won't work unless on a freshly installed computer and can't put it on another computer as like I stated above it would dial weird, like dial up and communicate and then stop its the sound like when someone dies or goes out, kind of like:

I forgot to add that the YAMAHA pci sound card sounds THE BEST i have ever heard, my music/sound when all the way up sounds CLEAR and wonderful...and that's before I finally saw the onboard sound, I am not using that tho..I'd rather the pci card slot as I have already gotten the drivers for them and like i stated it sounds great and is da bomb man :P ...

So, after all that, the problems are:
Having tons of illegal operations and freezing
modem... it would dial weird, like dial up and communicate and then stop

Illegal Ops:
Are all 4 RAM modules identical speed and specification?
Have you run any memory tests?
Modem:
What sort of modem is it? PCI Winmodem? What chipset? What drivers are you using?

As for the bit in the middle about signing in with the previous owners' AIM, do you seriously think that was a good thing to openly admit doing?

no the RAM is not the same but same speed and each is 128mb each, and they work fine. and Yes the cpu was the bad one, it ran, but had errors, of some unknown kind.

I said that the RAM came out of different computers that I took apart, two came from the HP machine I had a day or two ago, two came from some other either the emachines, or the 200mhz dell I have all taken apart.
I can't use the the Dell optiplex RAM because it takes a diff. and more epensive type of ram.

No RAM tests, the Modem is a pci communications modem and it came from another computer I took apart.

And The aim thing, I signed on because it was there and i wanted too, i didn't initiate a chat with anyone, just to see who was on his/her buddy list and to see if it would sign on. I heard he prob. died, but then noticed he was on earlier last night pacific time and before i could initiate a message to him, he signed off.. moving on, the aim thing, I just signed on and right off, and then used it (since it was there) to input my name/password and log in and thought nothing of it otherwise. Due to that I could of logged on AOL using his/her screenname and password (i never opened it-don't know if the screenname with pw was there or not) but I didn't, I basically uninstalled it, also stuck my usb drive with spybot and adaware SE on it into the computer and removed all the spyware it had and installed avg antivirus and ran a small/quick test, command.exe or whatever had a trojan dropper, and then later on that night before I went to bed re-ran a scan and went to sleep, woke up, and it found two trojans. It could of had more that avg couldn't of caught but I didn't want to run any online scans for viruses.

Still after all that cleaning (i did run pestcontrol online scan for spyware-removed some) it would STILL freeze on me. This computer only had AOPEN RAM of 128mb each totalling 2 = 256mb.

Oh i forgot earlier but this system has a memory scan when it starts up and reports the memory OK and also it has a DUAL BIOS, after this post I am going to go look for an updated version of thee Bios if I can, and soon going to try once again to get the floppy disk drive working again...I think its the cable I got it now where it will come on and go off sometimes normally but can't read a floppy..

oh adding if not mentioned earlier after CHANGE OF CPU the illegal operations are GONE. Just a suggestion for others it could be the CPU if nothing else works out.
