I just recently built a PC....almost all parts are new from NewEgg.

All together, windows stable and running fine. Everything works but downloading programs from websites. I cannot download AIM. I cannot download Ad-Aware. It just goes to the downloading screen and goes no further than starting... in firefox or no bars of progress in IE.

Do you have a firewall running? If so, poke around in its settings to see if it is configured to block downloads of certain file types and change the setting.
