Strange things happening on my computer and browser

Hi

Im running Windows Xp, Celeron processor, latest update (as my computer is automaticaly updated all the time) 2.8ghz, 3Mb Broadband etc...

Anyway, over the past week my browser has been playing up. My homepage which is google sometimes works and sometimes doesnt- "this page cannot be displayed". Also sites like BBC dont work and sometimes do and sites in general work one minute but not the next.

I get this page cannot be displayed come up. My computer is squeeky clean from malicious software as I have scanned with HJT and seems fine, Ewido, Adware SE and Norton- nothing at all on full system scans.

My internet is tempormental at the moment and things just dont seem right. MSN sometimes signs in and sometimes doesnt.

Could it possibly be something to do with the router running from my cable modem? It often disconnects and I have to unplug it and plug it in again.

Please help this is so annoying.

post a copy of your hijackthis log in the cyber safety forum. Even though you already looked at it, a second opinion may see something whether it be something nasty or some hog.

:confused: I have been experiencing the same problem on my PC. I have scanned for all problems and cannot find anything either. I am beginning to wonder if it isn't caused by an update. I use IE6 and often get the THIS PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED.

Has anyone been able to determine what causes this problem? My laptop doesn't have this problem, only the desktop.
