Think maybe its time to have a Vista forum as previously mentioned (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102979&highlight=vista)? Microsoft made the preview version available to the general public today so you know there will be problems.

I'm sure the staff here at CTH will be more than willing to open up a new forum for this OS. But for now it's still in beta and if I'm not mistaken it's available basically for "testing" purposes. I don't yet see the point in such a forum untill it's at least out of it's beta status.

I agree with a Vista forum. There are sure to be questions about installation or something, and it might be better than having them all in the Anything Else forum.

Whaddya mean Dave? Four years after it goes on sale :p
I think the time is almost right for opening up a forum, IMHO.

That rarely stops peeps around these parts ;)
It is worthwhile, those interested will pool knowledge in such a forum and help the knowledgebase grow.

I think.

who is going to supply help on this? I'll try. I'm almost done downloading the beta. Like snurfen said, many will try to help however they can.

Admirable. Think it would be wiser to wait for google to aquire a decent accumilation though.

Actually, I'm only a Commodore. Haven't been promoted to Admiral yet.

there's quite a bit out there already, though unsurprisingly MS sites are totally pants about supporting it.

I agree to opening a Vista forum now, but not for the general populace; I presume it could be put to good use as an information exchange for the advanced users here. There should probably be a temporary sticky warning that since, at this time, Vista is in Beta, users requesting specific help for it shouldn't expect much of a reply.

Yes I agree we need a Vista Forum now the beta's here.
I agree with oracle though it would mainly be an information exchange, so a warning would be needed.

I notice no Mod or Admin has replied here, and I still disagree on such a forum simply because no one knows the full direction that MS wants to take. What happens if everything is totally changed before the "final" version? No one knows this, so what's the point in trying to resolve anything or even discuss things that might not "evolve". Surely MS would want to be hearing about the problems/discussions, which would help in their final decisions.

But still when we all get the beta's (mine comes in few days) there will be lots of desiccation about them.
Or maybe a beta forum for decision of all beta software.
Somewhere to discuss this is needed.
