serious blocking websites help needed

Hi;
The kids are set as "limited users" and I have content advisor turned on, with the sites in question blocked. Trouble is the kids have a way of getting in anyway.

The Advisor warning comes up on the screen and in a blink of an eye the kid does something (other than put in the password) and poof, he's in (of course I can never see fast enough what he's doing). He brags he learned it in high school computer class. I can't say if what he is doing is with respect to Content Advisor or IE itself. Just that he is getting in to the site, even after Content Advisor blocks access.

I need some help blocking a couple of sites, even if it means doing it in the registry.

Post note:

I found this solution on the net and tried it, it works. If someone can tell me whether this solution will cause any problems elsewhere on the system, or if there is a better way to do the same thing, I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Riva.

Solution:
Using the Windows "hosts" file, i added lines below the "127.0.0.1 localhost" for each blocked site, then restarted the pc.
eg:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.2 www.blockedsite1.com
127.0.0.3 www.blockedsite2.com

Using the Hosts file is a common way to block sites.

If you want something that is more user friendly than the IE Content Advisor and the Hosts file then checkout web filter software such as Net Nanny.

Thanks Degsy;

Nod, these are public access pc's so we don't really want to go to Net Nanny or equivalent. We only tuned on Content Advisor reluctantly because of the sites the teen guys were getting in to.

Thanks for the input on the hosts file. Glad to know this fix doesn't harm anything else.

Appreciated.
Riva
