I know there is a Windows 1, 2, and 3 but has anyone here ever used any of them? I installed Windows 2.03 Earlier this year at vo-tech....amazing how far operating systems have come.

Windows 1.0 (1985) and Windows 2.0 (1987)
I really only got into 3. Microsoft Windows 3.0 was released May, 22 1990.
I'd be hard pressed to set up a work group in 3.12 right now.
I always loved dos but it's almost out.

I barely used windows 3.1, never really liked it - was more of a dos person at that time.

3.1 and it's nightmare sibling 3.11 were absolute dogs. Only surpassed in awfulnes by 3.5.1 (or three and a half as it was known over here).
O/S2, now that was a beauty.

1 and 2 - never had a look at them let alone used.
Always used DOS in those days.
Can't say I minded using 3.1 that much. 95 was really the quantum leap forward.

Still have install media for:
DOS 6.21
Win 3.1
Win NT3.51
Win 95 (+"a" patch)
Win 95b*
Win NT4.0 (+ SP5)
Win 98SE*
Win 2k Pro*
Win 2k Server*
(*=currently installed and running)

I can beat that smurfy. I've got DOS 5.0 and PCDOS 6.3. IBM originals, still in their boxes, unopened. That's right, the shrink wrap is still on them. I saved them from the dumpster at my old workplace, a year or two a go. Why they were only just then throwing out unused DOS packaging is beyond me.

I've got an ancient computer in my room with Windows 3.1 on it. 486DX processor, 8 mb of ram & 120 MB harddrive. Having used Windows 98 and up for so long, I still can't get over the "Exit Windows" option!

I have two lappies. One running 3.1 and one running Win98.

The difference in the 2 operating systems isn't really much to go by

Oh and by the way...

I have given them both to my 4 yr old along with a multimeter. ;)
