No pages in IE open
I use FF to do most of my internet browsing. When I ran into a problem with Norton Internet Security 2005, I tried to run the Autofix tool from the Symantec website. This requires it to use IE. However no pages in IE open except comcast.net. I was told to uninstall Java Runtime Enivornment and all of its components and then reinstall it. However, everytime I try to reinstall it, an error occurs and it will not install.

Ie
Hello.
Last year, I had a problem with my IE and I couldn't get anything to open. I could use an AOL browser perfectly, but when it came to something that required a secure server or an IE, it wouldn't. I tried everything to remedy it. I republished, revamped, reinstalled, reprogrammed, you name it, nothing worked. Finally, as a last resort, I did a complete reformat of my system. Sadly that means restoring it to the original condition so you'll need to copy and back-up everything. But, it worked perfectly after that. |

Do you have any suggestions for redownloading Java Runtime Environment?

Ie
Hello.
If you reformat, you will need to back-up runtime unless it came with the factory settings. Have you tried a different version or copy? Could the file have became corruputed? Maybe you could just wait and after reformatting, download it then as to ensure the problem doesn't just travel into a freshly cleaned system. |

Sorry, for not replying sooner. I've been on vacation. I started removing components of Java as per advice from another post (LU1814) and then I could not get JRE to install. Unexpected error 203 continued to show up.
