How many computers can you install XP on?

Kommodore-X,

It's only one, the same as all the previous Microsoft operating systems. XP has done something different though, after you install you have to activate it by emailing microsoft or calling them. If these aren't done then XP wont run. :(

I installed it on my main computer today and I didnt have to call them or E-Mail them or anything, did it just do it secretly??

Legally only one, but there is a work around that you can do to install it on more than one. The way to do it was published in a well respected computer magazine. I will not say what it is here to protect this site.
But believe me it works.
