A girlfriend of mine and I are only vaguly computer literate. Both of us have computer-wizards by comparison for partners, and neither of them are too keen on showing us how to do stuff. Both of us have run into the inherent problems that come in such situations: namely, we aren't allowed to touch their computer stuff, but they have made themselves more than privy to what's on ours.

At this moment, our specific question is, how exactly is it that using cookies in administrative mode, they are able to view our myspace pages that we have visited. This is the flat answer we were given with little beyond that. Will deleting cookies, which is the extent of our knoweldge really, eliminate thier ability to view these pages without our consent in the future? We tried to figure out what they were telling us, but quite frankly, we come up with stuff we can't read, and my bf said "you just cut and paste it and then view it." Boy, that narrowed it right down... and neither of us knows how to set up anything administrative...
thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

What you actually want is a nice little program called CrapCleaner. It's available here (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/download/file/ccleaner) (<-----click this) for the amazing price of free. It will rid your PC of cookies, etc. - simply run it whenever you like to help maintain a little privacy. It's also very good for your computer.

deleting the cookies will keep anyone from logging into your myspace without your knowledge if you do not log out like you should. However, some pages you visit may be located in the temporary internet folder or other places and may be found depending upon the technical knowledge of the user

As previously suggestion ccleaner will get rid of most

Although CCleaner, and the likes, is good, it may not completely clean index.dat files that can be viewed and contain sites visited. Only by using a Tracks Eraser can total privacy be obtained. Unfortunately, there are no free apps, that I'm aware of, available. Many trial/buy apps for this purpose.

We logged out.... J. said "your cookies" and C said you can cut and paste the cookies and view them in administrative mode. ? They didn't log in and change anything, they were just viewing what we viewed. I looked for a Google desktop like program, and didn't find anything, and I don't suspect they actually put a keylogger on there... is what they are saying legitimate? How did they do that?
