Firefox Problems
(Just realized this needed to be posted here LOL
)I have the Firefox browser installed on my PC. And all of a sudden, when I tried to open it one day, the browser appeared on the screen, but after a few seconds the whole Firefox browser crashes, and I can't click on anything. This happens everytime I launch the browser. I've tried re-installing the program, no success, still did the same thing. And un-installing it, deleting the files from Program Files and then re-installing, no such luck. I really enjoy using the Firefox browser as it is one of the fastest browsers you can use. At the moment I'm having to use "Opera" browser due to the problems I've been having with Firefox. Could anyone please give me some advice on how to resolve this problem?? I will be immensely grateful. Thanks. |

Maybe you need to do a complete uninstall, which also removes everything under application data. Here's how, just follow the links in the article.

Wow wow calm down. You might have some malware attached to the browser, try this.
Find the browser firefox.exe file (in programs files/mozilla firefox/) and rename it firefoxx.exe or firefox1.exe or somthing, then try starting it. Fixed? If not then go for the uninstall, but it won't remove the malware. (if there is some) Last edited by theatty; June 18th, 2006 at 12:50 AM. |

I edited it slightly, i believe i was half asleep when i wrote it, anyway; there is loads of malicious software aimed at Firefox, some rumour that said software may be produced by rival Explorer makers, however the Firefox MW is often simple to get rid of, at least simple to render unusable, by changing Firefox's exe filename the MW no longer recognises the browser. Stupid i know but it works.
Lets see... |

Did you install any new extensions/themes, that sometimes can cause conflict and corrupt the profile. Before uninstalling Firefox you should try opening it in Safe Mode, if that works you know it is probably due to new extension/theme installation.
Start > Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode) Safe Mode disables all extensions and themes giving you the opportunity to rectify problems.
