HELP needed!

My computer screen has gone really weird. the writing is out of focus and the picture is all messed up and I'm really worried about it. this sounds really bad but my computer is my life at the moment! I'm coming to the end of a Masters programme and I really need it in full working order. Does anyone know what's going on or how I can be helped! I would be so grateful if you could get back to me. Hi. The only thing I've installed are the new updates that I install all the time. Help! What do i do. PS I'm really bad with computers so any help at all is much appreciated

To try the easiest thing first:

1. Right click on My Computer
2. Left click on Properties
3. Go to the Hardware tab
4. Click on the Device Manager button
5. Double click "Display Adapters"
6. Double click the video card listed there
7. Go to the Driver tab
8. Click on the Update Driver button
9. Check the box for "No, not at this time," click the Next button
9. Step through the wizard without specifying a place for Windows to look for the drivers

Hopefully, Windows will find and reinstall the drivers for your video card.
