While surfing in the internet.. too many sites give you a grey box which says... check your computer for virus... or you have won something click to get ur present. If u just click on X to close them the box opens (that's their purpose i think) an usual without u want it to open... So my question is... you just let them be there until finishing from that site....or is there any other way to get rid of them??????

What OS are you using ? ... if XP, have you got SP2 installed ?

Hi, yes i do have XP and sp2, and i don't always use pop-up blocker, as a matter of fact today, that grey box which appeared was huge like the whole screeen.. could not see anything else...and that tricked my question...that was very hard to get rid off.

Can you not press the little x in the top right? If not press ctrl + Alt + Del, then close it from the applications tab.

Yia sou Gdem, i do press little x but most of the times the page opens without me wanting to... that's mainly my problem.. I will press ctrl+alt+del next time.. and see what happens..Efharisto poli

If you dont want them to pop up, use the pop up blocker. If there are certain websites that you want the pop ups, you can click on the message on the top of the screen when the pop up is blocked and select "always allow pop ups from this website".
