The vga cable on a monitor has a round piece before the hd-15 connector. What is it and what is the purpose. I was going to buy a replacement cable. I noticed some have the device on the cable and some do not. what is the deal

Those are Ferrite Chokes that reduce interference along the cable.:cool:
