Hi,
I've been fighting with Quicktime for a few hours now, trying to fix a problem that's been bothering me for many months now.

Since I updated to Quicktime 7, most videos that I try to play have choppy audio. You can sometimes make out what is being said, the audio continues to stream, but it's always choppy. The video quality is fine. Sometimes, this isn't a problem, usually with lower quality video files created for older versions of quicktime (I think)...but anything in H.264 is a problem. Some sites have mentioned disabling high quality/H.264 for similar problems, but I haven't been able to find a way to do that without downgrading back to quicktime 6- which kills itunes and other programs.

I've fiddled with the Audio preferences, and changes in the Rate/Size have either worsened the sound or made it so there is no audio alltogether.

My computer is pretty old, so I'm guessing it might be an sound card problem, though I've never had any issues anywhere else. As for other computer specs...

OS: Windows XP Home w/SP2
Processor: Intel Pentium 4, 1.50 GHz
Memory: 512MB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX200
Sound: SoundMAX Digital Audio
Internet: Cable

^^hopefully that is all you will need?

Anyone with any advice would relieve a huge headache..thank you!
