sometimes posts get lost among the hundreds that get posted daily. If yours got lost, return to the post and reply using only the word bump and it will be brought to the front of the pack again.

If it's a cybersafety problem, there is a thread dedicated to exactly that.
Otherwise, the advice I have seen suggested before was to repost it after a few days. Or bump it.[as above post]

![]() If your post isn't answered in a day or two then make a post in your thread to remind people that you still have the problem.

An even better idea than bumping your thread is simply to edit your original post (providing more details or further symptoms if possible) - this has the effect of a bump (the post gets moved up) but retains the zero reply count (so those who look specifically for threads without a reply will still find it). The worst thing you can do is post a duplicate problem, with a different name, reworded question, in another category, with a different username, etc. Bumping a post, while somewhat acceptable after waiting at least a couple days, has the problem of losing the kind of audience mentioned above.
EDIT: For some reason, I just noticed editing doesn't bring posts to the top anymore. Don't know when that behaviour was changed.

Howdy All. Due to the volume of requests at the Cyber Safety forum, the most common practice among Helpers is to check through the oldest requests first, checking threads that have yet to receive a response. Reading through each thread would be seriously time consuming, so Helpers tend to first look for threads that have a zero (0) in the Replies column, which would indicate an unanswered request.
Given this, practices like "bumping" actually defeats the purpose of drawing attention, since a bump would then show as a one (1) in the Reply column, and could actually lead to a delay in response time. To make sure no one's request gets missed, we have a "What to do if your topic has not been answered" Sticky at the top of the Cyber Safety forum page. Any Member who has posted a request that goes unanswered after 24 hours can post there, and someone will respond as soon as possible.
