Dvd playback J.E.....R.K..Y

Hi peeps

I hav bought a 16x dvd/rom but on playback the sound and picture are really jerky. Is this because my dvd/rom is too slow, my PC too slow or is it maybe my PC settings. I can play dvd's fine if i rip them to the hard drive first but thais takes a long time and alot of space.

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

A little more info, please......what graphics card are you using? What DVD software? There are quite a few reasons for jerky video (and audio). Just trying to narrow it down. :)
