need help with my secure tunnel program...

not sure if this is the right place or not...hopefully someone can help.

i swear i have all the settings the same as i did on my other computer where it worked.but...
i haev putty set up.i access that and input my user/pass and that seems to connect just fine.but i must have something messed up in the firefox connections settings.i have also seen some kind of error saying i need to have socks enabled to make this work but the 'socksv5' option checked.i dont know what else to do.can someone help me get setup here again please?do i need to change the http proxy setting line?thought it was the right one for my secure tunnel im on...

127.0.0.1 for the http proxy settings
and 4567 for the port

i get a page saying the below.

The proxy server is refusing connections

Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

* Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.

* Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is
working.

Is the proxy server software running on the machine you are having problems with or just on the other machine that is working?
