Hello guys I need help.It started with me having a virus on my computer, so I took a final Draft 7 document and put it in a floppy. But like the username I have I lost the floppy:curse:.So I tried a file recovery software to get it back after I blew out my computer. After that:dizzy: I opened the file to reveal it was the same size of original document(70 pages) but it's now has these symbols like for example:

A€ ë@Sh(@ ë $¡° ƒÀ@h à€2À °à YYëâ?Ó Ph˜' 5 ä  _^[Â
V ‹t$ …öu 3Àë ƒ|$
u

I was wondering if anyone here knew of anything I could do to convert this back to normal setting.Thanks.

Hi computerJerk, welcome to CTH. I have moved your threads into this one combined topic in the Apps forum.
For the latest problem...
Have you patched your Final Draft 7 to the latest version (7.1.2)? It's a free update at finaldraft.com

For your first problem, I would suggest it's a fonts issue - the font you originally used to author the document was not a standard windows font so is no longer available after you blew away Windows to rid yourself of the virus.

I'm not familiar with the Final Draft interface but is it possible just to select the text and change the font?
If not, then saving a file to floppy on a Virus infected computer and using it on the "clean install" virus-free computer is the way viruses used to spread before the days of the internet. Are you certain the file was infection-free?

Hello smurfy .Glad you can spread some wisdom. But After I blew out my computer(Which is a trip with Dell) I install Final draft and used half of the remaing script to start again and it just had that error and just deleted from thin air.I guess it wasn't too infection free I was just surpised it did that like that.I just don't know what Runtime Libary error C+++ meant??
