Men are apples and women are pears.
Simple math. More calories in than out and you gain weight.
Cut sweets and fast foods.
Walk briskly 30-45 minutes a day.
Work up to 50 sit-ups in the morn and 50 at night.
Work up to 25 push-ups in the morn and 25 at night.
You'll loose 2-3 inches off your middle and about 15-20 lbs in about 8 weeks.
Pretty basic stuff.
My 2 cents. Good luck.

Stop eating 2 1/2 - 3 hours before you fall asleep.

Get off the computer and television and go out and play hard.
A 16 year old kid shouldn't have to make such an effort to stay healthy.
Play ball, run, get off the couch more. Take stairs 2 or 3 at a time.
Quit snacking junk foods. Eat your spinach.
I'm almost 60 years old and do more than many 16 year olds.
It's a global crisis for obesity. Even morbid obesity is a high percentage.
Get a friend(s) to join in your efforts. Have fun. You're 16.
You should have no more to worry about than a couple zits.
Good luck.

I know what you mean but believe me when I tell you that the longer you delay a healthier life style, that gut you try holding in for a good looking girl may not suck in at all. Just watch some grown men at the mall getting red faced in about 30 seconds trying to hold that gut in for a cute thing. It's a riot.

Cut out carbonated drinks TOTALLY - drink water instead (not the fizzy OR flavoured stuff).
Quit Fast food (or severely limit your intake of it).
Eat lots of fruit and veg every day (use the smoothy maker or juicer if your family have one).
Get out and run around every day.

Basically, find some methods of modifying your food intake so it contains less processed foods and get an exercise plan together - as long as both fit your lifestyle/commitments, you should be on to a winner.

I'm a few weeks into doing this and I'm starting to see/feel a difference already.

Don't forget, your shape does change almost month by month when you are still growing (you go outwards, then upwards etc as you grow), so don't get too fanatical about it for a few years yet.
Best of luck mate

Don't eat 5 BIG meals a day.
Do some sit up's.
Cut way back on the SWEETS.
GET A JOB!
How BIG are you? What is your waist?
Eat more fruits and vegetables.
When you are older join the MARINES or ARMY: you will lose weight FAST.

I don't think it's too early to start watching your growth, especially the outward growth. The world is way too full of fat people. Yeah I said it. No matter how you say it, fat is fat. Not pleasingly plump or wonderfully large.
As I stated, obesity is rampant. Cute 'chubby' 5-6 year olds waddle behind their large parents right into Mac D's for a mega-triple whopper and a diet soda.
Ok so this may not hold true for about 1% but a duck is a duck.
You all will feel a lot better physically and mentally when you achieve a good weight/height balance.
Try this calculation
and see how you fair. BMI is important.
On BMI index of 19-25, mine is 23. No brag, just fact.
