Hi,

I have a computer that I use as a file server over my home network. I am running xp home sp2 on it and have 4 hard drives that are all shared on the network. I have 3 computers accessing it. One desktop running XP Pro sp2, one laptop running XP Home SP2, and my Macbook running OS 10.5. Most of the time everythign works fine except a few folders. When I acces them they just freeze explorer. Even on the mac they will freeze up finder. Its not all the folders just a few of them. Any fix for this? Its getting really annoying. I have some pictures saved on one I do not want to loose.

Thanks for your help.

On the host computer, do these folders show up with green or blue lettering or are they system folders (i.e. \WINDOWS, \...\system32, etc)?

They are not system folders. Its like (E:\pictures) I have file sharing turned on and the drives are mapped to the other computers. I never had this problem before and I am pretty experenced.

On a server where shares are working properly, the only situations I know that cause a remote folder to freeze are locked files, compressed files, or encrypted files. Perhaps someone else can give you some more information.
