WiFi connection seems to time out...

Hey all,

I have 2 laptops hooked at my Belkin Wireless router using MAC filtering. My wife's laptop never loses the connection, but my laptop, will, after an hour or so of just sitting without activity, or coming out of sleep mode, will show that it's connected, but will now connect to the internet. I can't even refresh the connection. I have to reset then it works perfect... I don't think I am using a wake-up LAN or anything like that...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Matt!

Its a driver issue. For some reason, some wireless drivers don't have the ability to properly wake up from sleep mode. Instead of restarting, just right click on the wireless connection and click repair.

You may want to go to the power management tab under the properties for the adaptor and see if the option 'Allow windows to disable this device to save power' (or something along that line) is checked. Try running with that option turned off and see if it helps. Just remember the downside of turning the option off is that you may not run as long off of battery.
