corrupt files?

system is win 95 with a compressed drive
cleared spirit virus recently with avg ver 6.0
now get told various dll,vxd and exe's are missing when i try to run applications or access recycle
any files mentioned are always seen in explorer
does this mean that they are corrupted?

please help

Hi nakd -welcome to CTH. Its hard to know what has happened. AVG can be set to delete or quarantine uncleanable files. Which did you choose? Did you select the option to keep a log file? If so, have a look at the log and if you are not sure, post it back here.

It would be a good idea for you to run a second scan, just to be sure that you are clean with another AV. Go here and run the free online scanner and let us know how you get on.

What files are reported missing?
