Have you tried booting into safe mode to access the Control Panel > Display?

Here's a little tutorial on how to boot into safe mode.

http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/tu...rial.php/id/24

It may not work, you may not have all the display options avaliable in safe mode. If you don't, we will have to re-install the video drivers.

Do you know what video card you have? If you don't know, while you are in safe mode, open the control panel and click on 'system'.
Then click the 'device manager' tab. Click the + next to 'Display Adapters'. What is listed?
