My comps internet does not work, each time i try to sign on msn or anything it doesnt work. for msn it gives me''your gateway'' is offline. so i went to run> cmd> ipconfig, at first i had no IP so i did ipconfig /release renew, and i got an IP. now i don't have a default gateway so i tried going to network connc and put a gateway (same one from my laptop) didn't work. so basically my internet SBC DSL does work, but i dont have a default gateway therefore my internet completely is not working.. please help anyone if you have some ideas/suggestions =(

How exactly are you computers connected...

Also, on both computers goto

start->run->"cmd"->enter->"ipconfig /all"->enter

Post up the full output for both computers if you can by right clicking on the title bar of the command window and clicking edit, select all, then edit, copy... you can then paste it where ever.

It might also help if we understood how your network was setup. How are your desktop and laptop connected to the internet? If you are using a modem what make and model?
