All the x, v, w, and y,s written in the forums seem slightly faded on my screen - is that the same with everyone? It's with all posts, not just mine.
It's not a problem - hence it's in this forum, but I wonder if anyone else gets that.

They look fine to me, your monitor might need a little windex. :afro:

It's almost imperceptible but if I look closely it's definitely only those four letters wherever they appear on the page.
All the rest seem normal - weird eh? :dizzy:

Simply replace them all with the letter Ĉ. That way, rather than squinting like an old man at a lingerie show, you can simply say 'Aĉsome, dude! that's ĉery cleĉer of ĉou!' :)

Does the problem still exist? And is it only at CTH, or is it the same on any web site with text?

Does the problem still exist? And is it only at CTH, or is it the same on any web site with text? I've checked and it only seems to be on this particular computer.
It's on other sites as well but doesn't seem to show up as bad on them.
It's also only with Firefox.
wwwwwwwwwwww aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
With these two groups of letters the a's look like they are in bold type compared to the w's.
wwwwwaaaaaaa
When I make them all bold they all show up the right way.
I reinstalled Firefox recently but this was going on before then - months now.
It's no big deal - just strange, I hope they are not going to get worse and disappear. :curse:
ps. I've checked my eyesight, windexed the monitor and tried it when I was sober. Still the same. ;)
It seems to be on this computer with FF and worst on this site.http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/6412/dunnomr3.gif

Strange it would only be certain letters. Did you change the default font size in Firefox's options? Maybe your monitor doesn't like that size. It might be worth taking a trip to MS's Cleartype Tuner tool. (It's MS so you must use IE to access the tool.)

I can see what you're talking about although not as pronounced as you're seeing. Of course, I can also see a monitor screen flickering when nobody else can. I just figured it was the way astigmatism sees letters made of straight lines well separated...like w x y ...and letters made with curvy lines close together...like a m e g .
I have learned it's worse when my eyes are tired.

It seems ok on the other computer I use though.

Update;
I changed the font to verdana and it's back to normal - very strange methinks.
