hello everyone,
i would like to have a name or recommendation to an app that can fulfil my following scenario

i have a win 2000 server system which is used for file sharing, i.e. everyone in the network has shares on it they put fiels in there folders and i upload those to another office.

i require a software that can manage user permissions on folders on that shares i have tried DFS for windows but its not that good as it writes permission on individual directories and we cannot give permissions on subfolders individually

any help in this regards in appreciated..but please dont give ftp apps for this scenario as i want to use windows files and folders

one of the major reason for requesting such a software is that so i can monitor that which user copied the document in the shared fodler at which time

if anyone finds this info confusing and wants more info i can give that as well

Use IIS FTP services. It will use your NT authorizations, you just have to make the the users have access to log into the FTP service (Just create an NT group and give it authorizations then dump the users you want to have access into it). Sharepoint is way too bulky for something like you want to do. If you don't want to use IIS, Gene6FTP will us NT users aswell, but you have to set directory permissions on your own, it doesn't use NTFS permissions.
