color in coreldraw

Hi

I'm new to coreldraw and I got one image to use as a logo. Now I would like to get color from it so that I can use it photoshop. How do I get the name of the color and then change it to "normal color" as #000000. I tried and exported it to .psd file but color didn't stayed the same...

The easiest thing to do is use the original color code number instead of a name. Not all colors have names but they all have a color code. Open in Corel, find the color and write down the code. You could also open the original file in Photoshop and copy the color there.

Incidentally, for simple colorpicking I use a tiny (no install needed) color picker to copy color codes.

the problem is how to find a color, I have simple logo, three circles with text in it. Now first is blue, second gray and then again blue. How do I get color, anything name or code for gray. In photoshop is simple, use eyedropper tool and there you have it, but in coreldraw there is also this tool but I can't use it...

Why not open the image in Photoshop and use the colorpicker there? I don't use Coreldraw so can't tell you where to look in the program for a colorpicker tool. Maybe someone else knows.

That colorpicker I linked above is a standalone app and works anywhere on your monitor. It will capture color codes in Coreldraw, web pages, desktop icons or anywhere else. Open it, find the color you want, click F1 and the color code is in your clipboard. Paste the code directly into Photoshop or a text doc.

Image is in .cdr format. I was able to get the code (194,193,193) and it's #c2c1c1 color. Now I use this but I get different color than the real logo so I had to change it to #c9c9c9.

Well thank you for your help...

try this

Hey.
You couldn't pick the colour in corel draw probably because it is a image, and not a vector graphics. (An picture is just put on a corel draw document and saved so it has the cdr format, but it's still a bitmap image.)

I am not an expert in this, but if I understand you problem right, maybe this could be a solution.

It's what I always do: save this image in some jpg, png, gif or another bitmap format and then open it in Corel Trace (it is in the corel draw graphics package). I trace the image, the trace is usually not that good, but it doesn't matter, the color stays always the same. then I mark the whole new graphics and copy paste it in corel. Then you have a vector graphics, and you can use the eyedropper tool.

sounds complicated but works. :-)
