recomendation on a video and audio player
i have fedora core 5 on my system i have the following audio players installed
kaboodle helix player noatun rhythmbox music player the probelm is that none of these play mp3 or wma let alone wmv and mpeg, i want recommendations on a good video and audio playing software in linux which is very easy to install and configure and if possible the instructions on how to install i am anxious in knowing the opeinion of you computer experts |

Fedora does not include mp3 player support by default for legal reasons, you can find the guide for installing mp3 support here.
http://www.fedorafaq.org/#mp3 For audio files, XMMS is a rather nice app similar to WinAmp on windows. Amarok is also really nice, with many features added for mp3 players. For videos, I usually install mplayer, xine, and vlc.

i downloaded xmms in both rpm and tar versions when i try to install it via rpm first it gives the error

Instead of using an rpm or tar package, use yum.
