Can you guys recommend me a laptop? I've had a SONY VAOI for the last couple years and it broke down a lot. I'm not looking for anything fancy with any special features. The main things I'm looking for are reliability, durability, decently priced and light weight.

joe, it sounds like you know what you are looking for in a TOOL (not a toy).

The biggest issue here is the trade-offs you are going to face on:
1) Reliability Vs Price
2) Durability Vs Weight.

Normally the most reliable ones aren't the cheapest and the lightest ones are least durable.
If I was in the market for a laptop as a work tool (I'm not) I'd be looking at Toshiba first, daylight second, Asus or Lenovo (IBM) next.

Canada gave Dell #1 rating! thats what I heard. Anybody here own a dell to enforce what I'm saying.

I can tell you HP is quite stable compared to Seanix.

If you don't want to order by phone here's the following option:

In my opinion Toshiba & SONY are at the same level in terms of picture quality. Toshiba is a lil better than SONY in sound. Ive always seen Toshiba as a company thats good with hardware. Try Toshiba Laptop, I agree.

or look for a brandname that has a good support & help system available.
