Has the worm (or penguin for that matter) turned?

I think that is the first time I have seen someone asking to install Linux native software on Windows, it's always been the other way around.

May that be the first of many more to come!

Sorry fellas. XP is farther advanced than Linux. It's sad but true. Until Linux(any distro) can become as easy to install and add programs to as XP, it's not going to be excepted in the main stream. There's always going to be the hardcore of Linux users, but we won't be seeing it on many desktops for a long time.

You are right. But within a year or two I'm expecting linux to come mainstream.

Look at Ubuntu (as much as I dispise it), it has massive finicial backing (rivals red hat), it's free, it's easy to install, it's easy to get.

With a package manager like apt-get, they can't go wrong.

I think in the next 6 months they will have gui installs cleaned out and debugged, and then can work on more usability stuff, but they have made phonomenal strides, and it will pay off
