cd burning help
hi i've just got a new main unit with a cd-rw drive. Is there somewhere i can learn about what discs i need for what data/audio etc? I figured it was either cd-rw or cdr but the manual says it ain't that simple. Can cd-rw discs only be played on computers and audio with recordable cd drives??
I'd like to make some music cd's first off just to get the hang of it. Also is it worth taking the cd-rom drive from my old pc and trying to put it in the new one?? It's by the same manufacturer but how do i found out if they are compatible?? Also is this something i could easily do myself?? appreciate any help thanks |

As far as CD-Disks go, CDR should be used for all data and for recording music CD's to be used in your stereo.
Music CD's are basically only used for burners that are made to burn off of your stereo. CD-RW are reusable by formatting and will not work in a stereo as far as I know. If you are going to burn MP3's to play on your stereo they will need to be converted to a wav file first, This option may exist with your burner software. With todays faster drives it is faster to write to the hard drive first and then switch CD's and burn than it is to try and copy a CD. I'm sure you will get other peoples points of view on this......
