View Full Version : startup list site?

My hard drive died on Christmas Eve and I lost (as expected) all my bookmarks when I installed my new drive.

One bookmark that I'd really like to replace is one that listed all the items that could run at startup and what they were and if they were in fact A)extremely necessary B)totally unnecessary or C)up to you, the user.

This site was found on a discussion board site (like this one) called The Computer Mechanics, which has gone belly-up, so I can't go back there to find the URL.

Does anyone on these forums know the site I'm talking about? If so, could you please post it for me so I can add it to my new bookmark list.

Thanks.:)

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm ...there are more like this one, but this is the one I have in my 'Help' folder in Favorites.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

That is EXACTLY the one I needed to replace. I had cleaned up my startups with that list before, but since I had to reinstall all my programs after installing the new hard drive, the startup file is once again full of unknown entries!

I'll get right to the cleanup now!

Thanks again, LadyL!:) :) :)
