Studio 10 vs Click to DVD problem

Hi,

I have installed Pinnacle Studio 10.5 to burn my home video tapes to DVD. Its working, but now I cannot use the other DVD burning tools - they still work for CD but not DVD. Its like the new software has taken over.

I have uninstalled Studio, cleaned up and tried it - same problem. I reloaded Studio again and same problem.

Has anyone ever heard of a sw package taking over the ability for other similiar packages to run? Specifically Click to DVD?

thanks so much for any insight!

Pinnacle studio may be taking over priority of the drive at startup.
Check the options or preferences in the program and look for
a setting that says start with windows and disable it.

You may also be able to exit it if there is an icon for the program in
the task bar.
Usually right click and click exit.

No, its not that - bummer. I reinstalled and deinstalled the product and then tried again - same thing. I decided to reinstall the product again and see if there are some special settings etc.

I think that something has changed the root system settings of the actual DVD driver. It will not burn anything now except for CD R where it used to burn DVD+R... BUT, the strange thing is that it DOES burn DVD+R with the Studio10. The Roxio, Adobe, CTD will only burn CD R.. .

I dont know how to look at the driver or drive cache or whatever ? I am surprised that this is happening with the product.. going back to Pinnacle !

If you have any insight, please send it my way! thank you for the reply.

If you have a retail or dell windows xp cd,put it in the drive
and close the initial splash screen when it appears.
Go to start/run and type sfc /scannow in the box.
Click OK and let it run.
This will replace and corrupted system files and may correct the problem.
This will not alter your programs or settings.
